Zine

— What were you going for in your zine?

The theme I chose for my zine was rest, which is found in many different ways. During such crazy times especially I think it is very important to seek rest regularly in order to maintain a stable state of mind.

— How successful do you think you were?

I’m not too familiar with watercolor and I ended up soaking through the paper a couple times, even tearing it at one point. I would probably go a little slower and let each layer dry before adding more color and use thicker paper. Otherwise it turned out not too bad and I had a good time making it.

— What would you do differently next time?

I was originally planning on using fine point sharpie or micron to do outlines over the watercolor, and I think that might be a cool look.

— Can you think of another zine you might like to make.

I think it would be fun to try using sharpie and doing more bold or psychedelic designs, with the themes of emotion where each page has a face with a different expression, or dogs with a different one on each page.
