- I want to do an oil crayon piece of an angel, using dull dark colors in the background and lighter faded colors on the actual angel, as if a brighter light is shining on it. I want to use a sharp needle to scrape away the thick pastel to reveal the shapes instead of using the colors themselves to define it. Either that or i’ll create a design to layer the colors, in which I would have to leave the colors kind of bold and blended.
- I had a dream the other night about something along those lines and I thought it would be cool to try and recreate what I remember from it.
- I’ll use oil crayons and paper to create the piece.
- I think my main struggle is trying to find a grander idea behind my piece. I know it doesn’t have to be anything extravagant but I think I could come up with something understandable once I’ve got down the colors. Or maybe I won’t try to come up with something deep. I usually come up with idea first then the piece so this is an intentionally different approach for me.
